The kids are back at school, the leaves are starting to fall and there is a definite crispness in the air…all signs that fall is fast approaching. Thankfully, there are still a few more sunny days left in September and I, for one, have been trying to make the most of it.

Knowing that all too soon it will be too cold to sit outside and enjoy fish and chips in the sun, I made it my mission this week to visit Go Fish for a last hoorah to summer. My visit on Tuesday was so impressive that yesterday, I made my second trip for the week. On my first visit this week, I completely devoured their seared albacore tuna wrap with avocado, roasted red peppers and balsamic greens ($11). Unfortunately, they don’t mention anywhere on their menu that they add wasabi mayo to this and that slightly ruined it for me. Wasabi = ugh! But that aside, the wrap was incredible. Sorry for the lack of photographic evidence on this one, but trust me – just order it. You won’t be disappointed.

After a very wet Wednesday, the sun decided to pop its head out again and so I went back on Thursday for some more fishy delights. This time I decided to go with the traditional beer battered halibut and chips ($10).

The fish was perfectly cooked and was placed on top of a mound of pommes frites (fancy word for chips). The tartare was delicious, as was the crunchy coleslaw.

Mmmmmm, Go Fish, even with your surly staff, you still offer the best fish and chips in town!

Those Fish & Chips look gorgeous! Do you know how late in the day this place stays open?

It varies, depending on the weather I believe, but they say to get there before 6pm on sunny days. My guess would be that if it is raining then they close earlier.
